Welcome to Nalandabodhi Halifax!

Whether you are new to Buddhism or have been exploring the path for some time, you are welcome to join us for meditation practice, study, and community gatherings.

Upcoming Programs

Day of Meditation: Pause. Breathe. Be.
The next Day of Meditation will be held after the summer break! Dates coming soon.

Join us for a day of sitting and walking meditation, as well as group conversation.  Beginners and experienced meditators alike are welcome. 

Individual meditation instruction will be offered at 10 am, while the first session of the day starts at 10:30.

Come for the whole day or for individual sessions. (Please arrive a few minutes before the start of a practice session.)

  • 10:30 – 12:00 Meditation
  • 12:00 – 1:00 Lunch break
  • 1:00 – 2:30  Meditation
  • 2:30 – 3:00 Tea & discussion
  • 3:00 – 4:30 Meditation

Free to attend – donations welcome.
Tea, fruit, and cookies provided. Bring a bag lunch and your water bottle.

Open Talks on Buddhism
Join us for our new series of monthly talks on Buddhist topics! The talks are open to anyone with curiosity about the Buddhist path. Each evening will be a mix of presentation, meditation and discussion.
Classes are co-facilitated by Drime Shiwa and Brigitte Lause, both long term practitioners on the Buddhist path. Free of charge, though donations are always welcome.

Cosmology and Visualization in Tibetan Buddhist Practice

We meet regularly on Sundays, 10:30 to noon, and alternate between the following activities:

Bodhi Gathering
We come together for meditation, personal sharing and exploration of verses from the 37 Practices of the Bodhisattvas.  

Khadiravanitara (Green Tara) Practice 
You are welcome to join the Nalandabodhi community in the practice of Khadiravanitara, a Green Tara sadhana authored and compiled by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

We are happy to provide personalized 1:1 meditation instruction.  You will learn basic meditation techniques, how to adjust the meditation posture to your physical needs, and how to work with possible obstacles. Contact us at halifax@nalandabodhi.ca to request instruction.
